Musical improvisation (also known as Musical Extemporization) is the creative activity of immediate ("in the moment") musical composition, which combines performance with communication of emotions and instrumental technique as well as spontaneous response to other musicians. Thus, musical ideas in improvisation are spontaneous, but may be based on chord changes in classical music. Because improvisation is a performative act and depends on instrumental technique, improvisation is a skill. There are musicians who have never improvised and other musicians who have devoted their entire lives to improvisation. From Wikipedia under the

He has been playing guitar for 4 months now and can play very well including flamenco, very fast and very nice. But that isn't what i want to find out about despite him being incredibly good at just 4 months. He came over and saw our keyboard and asked if he could play. Of course i said yes. Mind you he has never in his life taken lessons and has played the keyboard a few times before. Last time was around 4 or 5 years ago he said. And that was just doing nothing basically. Anyway, he began to improvise beautifully! Using BOTH hands. Playing chords with his left while playing fast, slow, different tones, etc. with his right. Another cool thing was him using the sharps which a lot of ppl… [cont.] Asked by MikeG - Fri Apr 4 15:28:55 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. wow! i'd have to say yes. Answered by mrs_sophie_darcy - Fri Apr 4 15:37:39 2008 what can i add to this? Q. Charles Mingus was born in Nogales, Arizona in 1922. Through his life he had studied the cello and the trombone. Ever since birth, Mingus had been gifted with musical talents. As most musicians in the making, Mingus had an idol/influence, named Duke Ellington. Duke was a jazz musician who was a big influence on most jazz composers. As Charles got older, he learned the rules to jazz, like improvisation. You can t improvise on nothing , Mingus said to his son. In jazz you must learn to improvise, which was what Mingus was telling his son. If you must improvise you need something to work off of. Like in jazz, you need a rhythm to keep the rest of the song going Asked by Laquisha - Mon Dec 10 21:57:52 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. You might mention he's a bassist!!! Answered by ken b - Mon Dec 10 23:55:47 2007 Help, I need advice with acting plans and experience?
Q. I'm a senior in high school and I'm taking some college classes also. I need some opinions about my plans for maybe a future in acting. I'm planning on taking two community college acting classes in the fall semester and then two more in the spring semester. In fall I'm going to be taking a class called Acting for the Camera, and Improvisation and Foundations. Also during the fall I'm going to try out for my high school musical which is Willy Wonka. During the winter my high school has a play which I will also try out for. I'm trying to build up experience and training because I'm planning on moving to LA after I graduate high school. If I do all the things above do you think it will be enough experience to take the risk of moving?
