How one can obtain the franchise of AT&T or any cell phone company, to use it in a different country?
Q. Let's say that a company has a monopoly of cell phones in a country. How can a citizen of that country obtain a permission from AT&T or any other cell phone company to expand their market place else and break the monopoly of that country? And, also what help does this person receive from this franchise provider?

A. You obtain the franchise from the company itself. But, be aware that not all businesses will sell franchices. What you get from the franchise provider is different in all cases, but they almost always sell you supplies, provide training (at a cost), provide tech support, etc.

How do you get involved in a franchise daycare business?
Q. I live in Chicago and I would like to open up a daycare. I was thinking of a franchise or a state run program, perhaps for low income families to get involved with. I'm already in the education field, but know nothing about this process. Any ideas?

A. With thousands of franchises to pick from, you may want to consider using a franchise consultant. These people provide a complementary service of assessing your skill set and your financial capability and your background and interest and then suggest a couple of franchises that match your profile. They also introduce you to the head guys at a franchise company so you can get a complete picture of what to do. Try looking up www.matchpointnetwork.com or www.TheEAuth.com as both of these companies are reputable. cheers, Jam www.interactivesearchresu lts.com

How does one start an Major League Soccer franchise?
Q. I'd like to explore the idea of starting a community owned Major League Soccer franchise. (Something like the Green Bay Packers in football.) Where can I find out more about the process of creating an MLS team? I haven't been able to locate any resources regarding the expansion process in MLS.

A. Last season I think I heard that for an expansion franchise you must pay the league $50 Million, and build a soccer-specific stadium for at least 18,000 spectators. With a stadium there is a much better guarantee that the team will grow roots in its market. The stadium doesn't have to be there immediately, but the plans have to be there and construction better commence soon. I am opposed to further expansion, as it will only dilute the quality of the teams, but if you make it, I'll even root for ya.
